Care2Craft
Providing a time for creative connection
Welcome to Care2Craft
Here you can find out about Care2Craft, what it is, how it works, the benefits and how to contact me. If you like what you read then please get in touch and we’ll take it from there.
If you or a family member are feeling lonely and or are isolated and in need of support and encouragement I offer a weekly or fortnightly visit to your home or care home, providing an opportunity to be creative and through this receive person-centred and engaging compassion, connection and support. This is given through the opportunity to connect in many different ways such as sitting and talking, crafting or playing games. The choice is entirely yours and may vary week to week, depending on what you are interested in and feel like doing on a particular day.
Activities can include those given below and I am happy to hear your suggestions:
Sitting and talking
Crafting
Playing games, puzzles or crosswords
Going for short walks
Looking at family photos
Looking at newspapers or magazines
Being read aloud to…short stories and poems
Looking at old postcards
Making and sending postcards/cards to stay in touch with friends and family
Help with preparing a light meal or the sorting out of a drawer or cupboard
Light gardening or care of houseplants
I always arrive with a changing selection of crafts, games, puzzles and things of interest that I have prepared for us. You can unpack and look through them all and are free to choose one or more for us to do together depending on the time we have. You may wish to just chat over a cuppa, that’s fine too!
You don’t need to be creative, good at art or finish any of the activities we do together; the magic is in the connection that happens while we are ‘doing’.
“Creativity in and of itself is important for remaining healthy, remaining connected to yourself and connected to the world”. ”
Vintage suitcase that I will bring to your home filled with an ever changing selection of craft supplies, games, puzzles and items of interest that you are free to look at and choose for us to do that day.
